What are the loan criteria's?
How can I apply for a loan?
You can apply in 2 different ways that are more suitable for you. You can complete our online application on this website. The other way is for you to come into our office and fill out the Loan application form provided by the receptionist.
What is the maximum loan amount I can borrow?
At SNZF, we endeavour to be fair and straightforward to ensure your loan amount will work around your affordability, current financial situation and security. If you decide to apply for a personal loan, the minimum loan amount you can receive is $1,000. The maximum amount you can borrow under a personal loan is 20K. The consolidation and the Vehicle loan provide the clients to borrow anything up to 50K.
How long will it take to receive the funds I borrow?
As soon as you have signed your loan contract, SNZF staff will make a payment that same day. However, if you sign your contract during the weekend you may receive the funds on that day or the next business day.
What identification do I need to provide when applying for a loan?
You must provide proof of your identity that is current and updated:
Together with a form of photographic ID
How long does it take to get a decision?
Once you have fully completed your loan application and provided all required information, the loan’s officer will assess and review your loan application. It could take 1 – 2 business days to get a final decision. The loan’s officer will contact you for further information if needed. If the loan is urgent, please notify us, and we will get an outcome promptly.
What interest rate can I get?
SNZF provide various interest rates starting from 14% - 29%. We base the interest rate on several criteria. These include the type of provided security; the value of the security concerning the loan amount; the loan amount you wish to borrow; your previous credit history with other financial institutions; and your total credit profile.
Do you offer finance with no security?
SNZF only provide secured loans. Please contact our office for further options.
Will you approve my loan If I have bad credit?
Generally, if you have bad credit where there are recent defaults to another financial institution, your loan application is likely to be disapproved. However, we provide pastoral care and consultation to help you improve the likelihood of receiving a loan in the future. Contact us for more information.
Do I need a Driver's License?
If you apply for a vehicle loan, then you are required to hold a valid NZ Driver’s License. Please refer to the Identification requirements above.
What happens once the loan is approved?
Once the loan is approved, a loan’s officer will contact you to make an appointment for you to come in and sign your loan contract. The loan’s officer will elaborate on further details if needed.
Do I need to come to the office?
Yes. It is essential that you are present at the office to have an interview and sign off your loan contract. Your physical presence is mandatory regarding compliance from both the creditor and borrower.
What is a 'Secured' loan?
A secured loan is any loan that is backed by financial assets you own (e.g., A vehicle (freehold), property, or household chattels). These are collaterals that will be used as payment to creditors if you cannot pay back the loan. Secured loans encourage borrowers to repay the loan on time.
Can I consolidate all my debts with SNZF?
SNZF aim to consolidate all your debts into a single loan to ensure you are in the best financial position. However, there are specific criteria's that will help to assess your requirements for a consolidation loan.
Can I get cash?
Normally, we deposit the funds through your bank account. We do not offer cash.
How do I make loan repayments?
When you sign your loan contract, we provide a direct debit form for you to fill in. SNZF prefer your loan repayments to proceed through a direct debit payment. You are welcome to make cash payments directly at our office before or on the due date.
What are arrears?
Arrears describes an obligation that has not received payment by its due date. Thus, it refers to an overdue payment.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If you are financially struggling to make a payment, please contact our office immediately to ensure we can help find an alternative payment arrangement that is more suitable for you. If you know you are going to miss a repayment in the future, please call us on 09 262 2292.
What if the W.O.F or registration of my vehicle (Security used for my loan) is expired?
SNZF will not accept expired Car W.O.F or registration to be utilized as a form of security for your loan. You will need to update the W.O.F and car reregistration of the vehicle you will use as security for your loan. A roadworthy and registered vehicle will help minimize your interest rates.
What will my repayments be?
Your loan repayments will be dependent on your affordability, the amount you borrow and the loan term. The frequency of your repayments will be according to your income; weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Can I sell the security used on my loan?
Please contact SNZF office before you decide to sell your security that is used on your loan. You are required to either pay your loan in full or bring in different security to back your loan if you sell your security. Once you contact our office, we can work on a more reasonable option for you.
What do I do when I change my address or contact details?
Contact the office or, you can visit us to update your contact and living situation immediately.
What if I default on my SNZF loan?
There will be an incur default interest and fees if you default on your loan repayments. Your credit rating may also be affected. Enforcement action may exert against the collateral you use to secure your loan. Remember to contact us you if you have difficulty meeting your loan repayments, so we can work out a better option that works for you.
Does my vehicle have to be insured?
Your vehicle must be insured against accident damage and theft. Contact us if you need further assistance.
What if I want to make a complaint?
